You’ve got questions, we have answers

General

Do I need an agent?

Yes, all buyers and sellers on Doorsey must be represented by a licensed real estate agent to list a home on Doorsey or go under contract on a home as a buyer. If you submit your home instead of an agent submitting it for you, we will add your listing agent's information to the listing. If you do not already have an agent, we are more than happy to connect you to one within our network.

Does Doorsey buy properties and then resell them?

No, we don’t own any of the properties listed on Doorsey. We facilitate the sale of homes by working with listing agents. The final purchase transaction happens directly between the buyer, seller, and their respective agents.

How does Doorsey make money?

Doorsey contracts with listing agents and sellers to determine an agreement that works for all parties. There is no cost to using Doorsey as a buyer unless otherwise noted in the Seller's Terms.

What happens after bidding ends?

The winning buyer and their agent will prepare the Purchase & Sale Contract using their standard MLS forms. The price offered will be the highest bid amount and the terms included will conform to those defined as acceptable in the Seller's Terms. Once it's signed by the seller, the home is under contract and the respective agents will usher the deal through closing.

Is Doorsey an auction?

No, Doorsey is neither an auction site nor an auctioneer. Doorsey is a tool used by real estate agents to help their seller find the highest market bearing price from the best buyer possible. To do this, we provide resources to buyers that aren't found anywhere else, giving them the confidence to submit their highest bid.

As a seller, do I have to get a pre-inspection?

Yes, every Doorsey listing includes a pre-inspection in order to provide trust and transparency to buyers.

Do you help with financing?

No, Doorsey is neither a mortgage broker nor a lender. If you would like assistance finding a lender, please contact us and we'll be happy to provide you a list of local providers.
